As weather grows warmer and the days get longer, it’s time to elevate your outdoor living experience with luxurious patio design. Whether you’re looking to reimagine a cozy space for entertaining or a tranquil spot for relaxation, there are plenty of patio design trends to consider. This year, homeowners are creating spaces to unplug, unwind, and relax. Here are the most popular luxury outdoor living trends in 2023:
Bringing the Indoors Out
In 2023, the hottest trend continues to be bringing the indoors outside, creating a seamless transition between your indoor and outdoor living spaces. This can be achieved by incorporating plush seating, stylish rugs, elegant lighting and even curtains into your outdoor space. With the right design touches, you can transform your patio into a cozy and inviting outdoor living area that feels like an extension of your home. The weather in Colorado is notoriously changeable so invest in good furniture covers to protect your investment.
Sensory Pathways
Recharge and activate the senses with the use of sensory pathways to create a serene and relaxing atmosphere. Incorporate different textures like stone and wood. Consider the plant life, including colors, unique pots, types of flora, and heights, and use them as an opportunity for the eyes. As you reconceive your plantings consider whether the Japanese Beetle infestation along the Front Range will impact your choices and to choose water wise native plants that attract bees and butterflies.
Outdoor Fitness Areas
A curated outdoor fitness area is a growing request for those who enjoy having equipment at their fingertips. From a design perspective, one will want to ensure this area has shade, whether it’s under a shade sail or an existing tree. The ground needs to be somewhat level so consider placing it onto a signature deck or grass area. Wi-Fi access for streaming workouts or listening to hype music is also considered a must-have.
Fire Features
Add a touch of sophistication and luxury to your patio design with a fire pit or fireplace. These fire features can provide warmth and light on cool nights and can be a great focal point for your outdoor space. Plus, fire pits and fireplaces come in a wide range of styles and sizes, so you can find one that fits your design aesthetic.
